Anushka shoots sans break

Anushka is one heroine who has been both hardworking and disciplined, thanks to her yogic regimen.  Even as she awaits the release of Nag's Damarukam in October, she is busy in Kollywood.
A folk song on Karthi Sivakumar and Anushka Shetty is currently being shot at a studio in Chennai for 'Alex Pandian' helmed by Suraaj. With this, shooting for the movie will come to an end.
"In a day or two, the shoot of Alex Pandian will be wrapped up. After that, post production works will go on in a full swing for a month and the film will hit the screens in October," sources say.
The cast and crew of the movie were waiting for Anushka to can the song, since the actress was in Georgia for more than a month for Selvaraghavan's magnum opus 'Irandam Ulagam', which has Arya in the lead.
"Anushka joined the sets of Alex Pandian immediately on her return to India. She did not take any small break since she was not ready to delay the project," sources add.

Happy Birthday, Nag

For long, Akkineni Nagarjuna has ruled the hearts of cinegoers among the fairer sex.  As ANR's son, charm and sex appeal came quite naturally to him.  However, he refused to fall into an image trap by offering himself to lover boy roles, but decided to traverse on the difficult path by continuously trying new roles - the kind of ones which did not hold much special interest to his wide fan base among young girls and the women, but which he knew would endear him to the mass audience in rural parts of the state.  He has always been one star who ingenuously tried to balance the demands of the class and mass audience.  This explains why, even at 53, Nagarjuna comes across as someone irresistible.
Nagarjuna has always been adept at excelling in diverse roles. His choice of films used to puzzle many.  His much-acclaimed accomplished performance in Annamayya (1997) made him an icon to reckon with.  It was a revelation for many.  His fan base only got enlarged.  Unfortunately, good scripts did not come his way for long and he fumbled along (Chandralekha, Ravoyi Chandamama, Seetaramaraju, etc.).
Nag found it tough to bounce back after the insuperable Annamayya.  He had to bite the bullet for some years and then luckily one day, Nuvvu Vastavani happened to him.  It proved that Nag could completely transform into a sober actor who can emote profound grief and the pain of guilt with ease.
A few flops later, he decided to go for a remake.  Azad, released in 2000, did a decent business.  He was praised for electing a firebrand role in one of the first films dealing with the subject of fighting terror.
Santosham and Manmathudu helped him hold a sway over urban movie-goers.  His comic timing in the latter seemed all fresh and gracious.  Then, it was time for him to re-invent himself.  However, he did not seem to see the writing on the wall and went about repeating routine stuff.
One find day, King helped the grounded Nagarjuna.  Rajanna, Shirdi Sai, Damarukam, Love Story, the untitled mass flick with Veerabhadram and Vikram Kumar's film where he will act with his father and son go to show that he is here to experiment a lot.
As he said before the release of Rajanna, he wants to act in experimental cinema only from now onwards.
IndiaGlitz wishes the actor many happy returns of the day!

Jaffa to release on Sept 18

Jaffa, directed by Vennela Kishore, is set to be released on Sept 18.  This should come as a good news for those who have been eagerly waiting for Brahmi's full-length comedy film ever since they watched the trailer.
In the movie, Brahmi is playing an unintentional criminal.  He happens to be jailed for no sin of his.  Why he comes to be put behind will be known only when we watch the film.
Interestingly, Kishore had asked Brahmi to direct the film but the latter declined the offer.  Brahmi plays a prisoner with three shades of character in this spoof-like comedy (well, the film has elements of the 1994 American drama The Shawshank Redemption).

CGTR first look on Pawan's birthday

It is not one but two gifts on Pawan Kalyan's birthday.  If one of them is Baba Sehgal's special song on Pawan, the other one is the First Look of Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu.
The release of first look should not come as a surprise because the audio is expected to be released in mid-September.  The movie's talkie part will soon be wrapped up in a couple of days.  It is scheduled to be released on Oct 11.
When Puri Jagannadh put out the film's logo, it went viral on the Netscape.  Expect something of that sort on Sept 2, again.

What went into finalising the 'Mask'

Jiiva was flown to Hong Kong for a body head mold session that last for eight hours! Costume designer Gabriella and her ten member team took nearly six months for designing the suit, mask, cape and the belt!
Starring Jiiva, Narein, Pooja Hegde, the film by Mysskin is produced by UTV Motion Pictures and has music by K. It will see a big worldwide release come August 31.

Shirdi Sai's official release date: Sep 6

A Mahesh Reddy's Production No. 1, Shirdi Sai, will be released worldwide on the 6th of September.  "We have got clean U certificate.  The Censor Board members appreciated our film as a great one.  Nag's fans, general audience and Sai's bhakths are eagerly awaiting this movie", the producer said.
MM Keeravani's music is already on the chartbusters.  Dialogues by Paruchuri Brothers are keenly waited for because it will be interesting to listen to their words for a period film of spiritual variety.
Photography is by S Gopal Reddy.  May K Raghavendra Rao work wonders with this film, yet again!

NTR's Baadshah First Look

Woman delivers baby while watching Sudigadu

Delivering a baby while watching a movie is a jocular idea used in our films.  But when such a thing happens in real life, it understandably makes news.  One Parimala from the Palamaner town has made news when she delivered a baby while watching Sudigadu.
As reported, the woman was expected to deliver a baby anytime but, it appears, she was not prepared to undergo labour pain so soon.  She bought a ticket for Sudigadu, entered the theatre and started to happily enjoy the film.
She started undergoing labour pain all of a sudden.  It was when the film was stopped and all attention given to the woman.  Luckily, it was a smooth natural delivery for the woman.

Pawan's CGTR FIRST LOOK

Samantha to dub for herself in Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu

Samantha, who has bounced back from health ailment, is now focusing on work. Besides shooting for a Telugu film, the actress is dubbing for herself in 'Neethanae En Ponvasantham' (Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu).
Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, the film is being made simultaneously in three languages- Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. While Jiiva is the hero of the Tamil version, Nani replaces him in Telugu and Aditya Roy Kapoor is the lead actor in the Hindi version.
But there is no change as far as the heroine is concerned, asSamantha is doing it in all the three languages. "The actress is dubbing for herself. She is putting her best efforts to get the act right," say sources.
She joined the shoot of SVSC very recently.

Kajal's Telugu commitments not affecting her Tamil films

So far, it has been believed by the fans of Vijay and Suriya thatKajal Agarwal's busy schedule is the reason behind the undue delay in the release of Thupaki and Maatraan.  It has been held by some that her being busy with Baadhshah, Naayak and Yevadu have been the cause for this delay.
"It is true that I am shooting back to back. But things are well on schedule and everything is planned in a professional way. So there is no question of me being the reason behind the delay of films," she says.
Kajal's upcoming movies in Tamil are two high profile projects- Vijay's 'Thupaki' and Suriya's 'Maatraan'. Both are interesting projects and I am happy to be part of them, she says.
Also in Kajal's hand is 'All In All Azhaguraja', a film starring Karthi Sivakumar in the lead, which will be helmed by Rajesh M. Karthi and Kajal are already known for their chemistry in 'Naan Mahan Alla'.

Priyamani's Charulatha to release on Sep 14

Shankar-Vikram film title in Telugu 'Manoharudu'

Informed grapevine sources say that Shankar's 'I' may be released in Telugu as 'Manoharudu.  The title suggests Beauty,King,Guru,Wonderment, Softness,Gentleness in Tamil.  It may also mean musical notes, nuances, arrow, and fear.  The title ends with a 'Du' like the title 'Aparichitudu' ends with a 'du.'
Starring Vikram and Amy Jackson, this film is being made at a huge cost, by A Ravichandran of Aascar films.  What makes this film all the more interesting is the fact that, apart from top Indian technicians like the great AR Rehman and the matchless PC Sreeram, Shankar is roping in some Hollywood names to make the film a technical feast.
Two outstanding writing talents, D. Suresh and A.N. Balakrishnan, better known in Tamil Nadu with their pen name, Suba, are teaming up to write for their first Shankar film.  This is being termed a good marriage of creative minds, since Shankar is known to get the most out of any imaginative writer.  And here, we have not one but two such minds!
Mary Vogt, who is better known for his outstanding work in the Men In Black series films.  VFX supervisor Srinivas M Mohan will be assisted by an able team of technicians from Hollywood.

KVJ: Nayan springs a surprise

Far from giving up her acting career, Nayantara is all se to dub for her character in her first Telugu film since Sri Rama Rajyam.  As was rumoured earlier, Krishnam Vande Jagatgurum will see her dubbing for herself.  Nayanatara has been egged on by her director and Rana Daggubati to do the same.  She is playing a documentary maker in this bi-lingual.
"It's an action adventure. Rana is a theatre artist, while Nayan is a docu filmmaker. Though their approach towards life is different, they have to travel together at one point of time," says Krish, who is directing the movie.
The film is being made as a Tamil-Telugu bi-lingual.  Krish is not new to Kollywood as his 'Vaanam' starring STR made an impact here. "For the first time, I am directing a film in two languages simultaneously. I am happy about it," he says.
Bollywood actor Milind Gunaji is the villain, while Santhanam is there to provide comic relief. The film's climax was recently shot at Binny Mills in Chennai.
Mani Sharma is the music director.  VS Gnanasekhar is the

Pawan, NTR enjoyed Sudigadu trailer'

As soon as director Bheemineni Srinivas's Sudigadu's trailer was released, SS Rajamouli took to Twitter to say how he had been unable to control his laughter ever since he watched it.  It was followed by Ravi Teja's compliment.
The director says that he is very happy that everyone is responding positively after watching the trailer.  He even confessed that he heard that Pawan Kalyan and NTR, too, liked the trailer.  This only goes to show Sudigadu's popularity.
To avoid controversies involving fans, Srinivas made it clear some days ago that the spoofs are not targeted at any one.  However, there are some who feel that a particular line used in a promotional ad makes fun of Mahesh Babu's inclination of proudly talking about records.

CGTR shooting in Old City

Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu, which completed its long Ramoji Film City schedule, is currently being shot in the Old City.  The film tightly packed with many action scenes, with Pawan Kalyan playing an intrepid (rowdy?) journalist in this film.
Produced by DVV Danayya, who achieved success as the presenter of Julayi, the film stars Tamanna Bhatia in the role of Ganga.  In the latest schedule, PJ is picturising some action sequences on Pawan and others.
It was previously scheduled to be released on Oct 18, but the film may be released ever earlier say, by a week.
PJ will start shooting Iddarammayilatho with Allu Arjun from Sept 20.  It is produced by Bandla Ganesh

Part-time Mumbaikar Ram Charan

Ram Charan was reluctant to accept the offer of Zanjeer.  It is because he has had plans to dabble in Bollywood, risking his surging career in Telugu.
However, the businessman in him seeks to own a permanent property, a palatial residence, in the Bandra area of Mumbai.  He is helped in this by none other than Salman Khan.  Recently, when Cherry went to the city to scout for a suitable plot, he was helped by Salman.  It was more than a formal visit, because Cherry attended Arpita's, Salman's sister, birthday bash.
During his brief stay, he even met some real estate agents, say reports.  Upassana and her elders, too, are keen on expanding their group of hospitals in that city.

Nara Rohit's Okkadine wrapped up

Okkadine, starring Nara Rohith and Nithya Menen, was wrapped up in Goa with the completion of shoot of one remaining song.  "The song was shot on Rohith and Nithy, and 10 other dancers participated in it.  Written by Bhaskarabhatla, it was choreographed by Bhanu master", the producer said.
Directed by Srinivasa Raga of Katha fame, the film features a pub song also.  Music is by Karthik.
Naga Babu, Sai Kumar, Chandra Mohan, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Brahmanandam, MS, Banarjee, Jeevi, Ali, Srinivasa Reddy, Sathya Krishna, Sudha, Delhi Rajeshwari and others are part of the cast.
Dialogues are by Chintapalli Ramana.  Cinematography is by Andru Babu.  Art is by Nagendra.  Editing is by Marthand K Venkatesh.  Fights are by Ganesh.
"We are planning to release the audio in the first week of September.  The movie would be released in the same month", CV Reddy said.

Srimannarayana's platinum disc on Aug 26

Now that Srimannarayana's audio has been declared a hit, producer Ramesh Puppala is going for a grand platinum disc function on August 26.  The movie is expected to hit the screens on Aug 31.
Balakrishna is playing a journalist, constantly troubled by a group of six villains.  Yesteryear hero Suresh is the main villain.  For him, this is the biggest film after Love Failure earlier this year.
Parvathi Milton, Isha Chawla are the heroines.  Vijay Kumar, Suresh, Vinod Kumar, Kota, Jayaprakash Reddy, Krishna Bhagawan, Ahuthi Prasad, Dharmavarapu, MS, Raja Ravindar, Duvvasi Mohan, Rao Ramesh, Nagineedu, Supreeth, Sudha and Sathya Krishna are part of the cast.
Music is by Chakri.  Dialogues are by Poloor Ghatikachalam.  Cinematography is by T Surendar Reddy.  Editing is by Gautham Raju.  Art is by Nagendar.  Ravikumar Chavali has written and directed the movie

Remix song: Vinayak has change of plan

It is known that VV Vinayak has plans to shoot a remix song on Ram Charan and Kajal Agarwal for his film Naayak.  As it turns out, the director has had a change of plan since.  'Shubalekha Rasukonna' from Kondaveeti Donga will be shot, according to latest reports, on Cherry and Amala Paul, the film's other heroine.
Thaman has done the composition of this super hit song of the bygone era.  It is the third Chiru number that the son is shaking his leg for.  Though the Bangaru Kodi Petta from Magadheera was a big hit, many felt that Vana Vana from Racha was not magical enough.  Although Sampath Nandi did execute it well and it was well-choreographed, the song was not a big hit.
Shubalekha Rasukonna is not a massy number, and here lies the big challenge.  It will be interesting to see how Vinayak ably transfigures it.
The film is currently being shot in Greece.  Some crucial scenes are being shot in this schedule on the key actors

Harish Shankar on rumoured title change

Regarding NTR-starrer MLA, there is no change of title whatsoever.  This has been confirmed by Harish Shankar himself.  Ever since the news came out that Dil Raju registered 'Jana Gana Mana' title with the Film Chamber, it has been speculated that it must be related to NTR's film.
MLA means 'Manchi Lakshanalunna Abbayi' and thus, the makers don't seem to see any reason to go for a title change.  It sounds massy as well as apt at once.
"When the title has become very popular, especially among NTR's fans, why would Dil Raju and Harish go for a title

Ajay Bhuyan's Houseful on August 30

Before he made Dada with Naga Chaitanya, Ajay Bhuyan directed a romantic thriller called Houseful under the production of Chandra Siddhartha.  The film languished in the labs for nearly three years.  It has been taken over by Kanjarla Sadashiva Yadav, and is now set to be released on August 30.
The film sees Ali in a pivotal role.  Besides, Gauri Pandit, Vega Tamotia, Jeeva, Vipin, Arya and RK are playing key roles.  Ajay says, "The film has been made with a new screenplay style.  The confusions in the dialogues and activities of today's youngsters form the film's subject."
The producer is confident that the story and Anup Ruben's music will stand out.
Cinematography is by VS Gnana Sekhar.  Editing is by Chandra Sekhar.  Art is by Vishal.  Lyrics are by

Prabhas shoots for last leg of Rebel shoot

With all the songs and most of the talkie part done, the shoot of Rebel is in its last and final leg.  The movie is currently being shot at Somajiguda in Hyderabad.
Ever since the release of its trailer recently, expectations have only sky-rocketed.  Prabhas looks domineering and macho (as usual) in that trailer that has the adrenaline pumping.  Sensing the film's box office potential, 'Dil' Raju bought the Nizam rights for a whopping price.
Tamanna Bhatia and Deeksha Seth are playing the heroines, but it is Prabhas' "never-seen-before characterization" (to quote Lawrence) that is most eagerly awaited.
Lawrence's music album might be released in the last week of August or first week of September.  The film would be released in September.

prakash raj as a producer

Prakashraj is keeping himself busy as a producer as much as an actor. At present, his Duet Movies is producing a bilingual titled 'Gauravam'. Also, talks are on to remake a Malayalam movie in Tamil.
As an actor, Prakash Raj is part of a slew of movies in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. His immediate release in Kollywood will be 'Thulli Vilayadu', directed by Vincent Selva of 'Priyamudan' and 'Youth' fame.
In this thriller, starring newcomers in the lead roles, Prakash Raj is playing a comedy villain (such kind of role in DCM has not worked because of the poverty of script). According to sources, the actor really enjoyed doing the role with a difference.
Meanwhile, 'Gauravam' directed by Radha Mohan is taking shape fast. Starring Allu Sirish, Yami Gautham in lead roles, the film is claimed to be a thorough entertainer fit for watching with the whole family.

CGTR release date advanced

When it is Puri Jagannadh, anything can happen.  At a time when it is common to see movies getting postponed by more than a month (even superstar films), PJ is setting a new record.  The release date of Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu was announced to be Oct 18 on the day it was launched.
As it turns out, an over enthusiastic Puri is much more advanced with regards to schedule.  Thus, the movie might be released on Oct 11, so goes the buzz.
Well, it is known that Puri is gung-ho about shooting Iddarammayilatho with Allu Arjun, which is schedule to go on the floors on Sep 20.

Happy Birthday, Chiranjeevi

Happy Birthday, Chiranjeevi

IndiaGlitz [Wednesday, August 22, 2012]
Debates on Chiranjeevi discoursed on his birthday (August 22) may deal with where he might be placed by his political masters in 2014, but for those in the industry the question is about whether he will have acted in his 150th film by that year.  More than anything, a glorious comeback in films interests his cine fans.
It must be remembered, with caution, that Chiru never had plans to bid adieu to politics (even after the humiliating defeat of the erstwhile PRP in the 2009 polls), but always maintained before and after the political arangetram that if ever he was going to don the greasepaint, it will be tentative.
Thus, the difference between actor Chiru and politician Chiru is one film - a precious film, his 150th entertainer.
Vijayendra Prasad may or may not concoct a tantalising idea for him, Chinni Krishna may have already written a script, he may never act in Paruchuri Brothers' Vuyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, but it is certain that Chiru will want to do the balancing act in his imagined message-oriented film.  It is because he is a government man, who cannot be anti-establishmentarian.
Whether something extraordinary is going to come from him or not, what is certain is that his 150th film is not in the sight for now.
Be that as it may, we wish that Chiru will shake up the Box Office by at least making flashy appearances in Cherry's films.

I am distanced from Dhoni: Lakshmi Rai

Lakshmi Rai (Kanchana and Adhinayakudu fame) is no doubt the favourite child of controversy. The actress is often in news for some reason or the other. And the buzz which made her popular throughout the country was the one that linked her with Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Though the actress maintained that the Indian cricket captain was just a friend of hers and that there was nothing between them other than friendship, gossip factories continued to dish out juicy stories about them.
However, the big end to the buzz came when Dhoni married Sakshi Singh Rawat in 2010. Lakshmi Rai, who is now busy with Shiva Thaandavam, says, "I don't want to find myself in controversies again."
"Whenever I meet Dhoni in public functions, we part away after greeting each other saying hello. Some people are keen about spreading bad news about me. I don't want to give an opportunity to them."

Is she paid Rs. 1 cr.?

Nothing succeeds like success.  Shruti Haasan stands testimony to this aphorism.  Ever since Gabbar Singh catapulted her to the starry orbit, she has been one of the most sought-after names in Telugu.
Thanks to Harish Shankar's recommendation, she got to sign Ravi Teja's Balupu.  But the huge remuneration she is said to have garnered is entirely on her own stamina.
For Balupu, it is said that producer P V P Prasad has offered her a huge sum of Rs. 1 cr.  Of course, she has promised to allot bulk dates for the project.
While not denying it, sources close to Shruti maintain that she must be getting what she deserves.

NTR acted while in govt, opposition: Chiru

Taking the debate on his long-pending 150th film a step further, Chiranjeevi said that he is waiting for a subject that could make for a milestone in his career.  He doesn't think that doing a movie while being a full-time politician is difficult.  He points out to the example of NTR.
"NT Rama Rao garu did a movie when he was a Chief Minister.  He did two-three films when he was the Opposition leader.  Though he acted in films, he was not distanced to politics," he says.  Lest we fall into false conclusions, Chiru adds, "In any case, I have not take a decision on my 150th film."
He says that he is jealous of Ram Charan.  "I am happy and proud that he is acting in his first Bollywood film.  At the same time, I am jealous of him!  I acted in a Hindi film (Prathi Bandh) 12 years after I became an actor.  I am even more happy that he is debuting in Hindi through the remake of Zanjeer.  It gave Big B the image of an 'Angry Young Man," he says.
He says that Charan has matured as an actor since his first film.  "There was so much maturity and ease in his dance moves and the emoting in Racha.  I saw myself in Vana Vana song."

Shriya's toughest role ever in Chandra

If Shriya Saran has held her ground for more than a decade, there is a reason.  She is not only a good performer but also takes to reinvent herself, whether or not she finds visibility.  This season, she is back in news for playing a last generation princess in the Kannada-Tamil bilingual, Chandra. She performed a Kalari fight sequence recently.
Says Shriya: "Shot for a Kalari at a temple, that too barefoot! Those swords were heavy and painful. Wonder how those fighters won battles and conquered kingdoms"
The scene was shot at Nandrigram temple in Bangalore. The team is said to have shot there for more than two days and it features Shriya in a Kalari duel with her master, Prem, and it's more of a romantic duel than an actual fight between the duo.
